This is not an ordinary science lesson

When Ms. Quarketti walks in, the classroom becomes a laboratory of wonders.

Mia expects a lesson like any other. Then the new teacher floats toward the ceiling—and everything changes. From that moment on, every question becomes an adventure and every mishap hides a discovery.

Children follow the story, laugh with the characters and meet real scientific ideas along the way: no heavy lectures and no formulas to memorize.

Science enters the story at the exact moment a question is born.

Inside Volume 1

Three chapters. Three physical phenomena.
One completely out-of-control classroom.

Each adventure begins with an absurd event, examines it alongside the children and arrives at an explanation that is simple, accurate and memorable.

01

The anti-gravity shoes

Gravity

Why does everything fall downward? Quarketti explains it—from the ceiling.

02

The Vacuum-Maker

Air resistance

A feather and a ball reveal the invisible role played by air.

03

The Bouncy Cube

Elastic force

A bouncing snack turns the classroom into a science pinball machine.

A team children will remember

Four personalities. Infinite ways to go BOING.

Quarketti invents. Mia observes. Tommaso doubts. Greta says out loud what everyone else is thinking.

Ms. Quarketti
Ms. QuarkettiAn eccentric, explosive scientist who does not teach physics from behind a desk—she makes it happen. Her striped bag produces impossible inventions, spectacular experiments and enough enthusiasm to turn every mishap into a rigorous discovery.
Mia
MiaThe narrator and curious engine of the story. She watches the chaos, forms hypotheses—sometimes wildly wrong—tries things herself and connects the dots from surprise to understanding.
Tommaso
TommasoHe asks the questions everyone is thinking. Logical, cautious and permanently skeptical, he tests every invention—even when his snack becomes a live demonstration of elastic force.
Greta
GretaThe team’s energy and official megaphone. She turns surprise into comedy and, whenever the classroom spins out of control, she is the first to leap into action.

From story to experiment

The book does not close curiosity down. It gives it direction.

After each adventure, short “Did you know?” and “Your turn, scientist!” sections help children revisit the idea and connect it to their own world.

  • Accessible explanations and age-appropriate metaphors
  • Activities and small observation challenges
  • Illustrations that support understanding
  • Questions that keep the conversation going

A free resource to keep exploring

From the story to your kitchen table: seven experiments that really work.

Gravity, elastic force and air resistance become guided activities for ages 7 to 10, using everyday materials and explanations written for parents too.

  • Materials and preparation explained precisely
  • Numbered steps, checks and troubleshooting
  • A free printable lab sheet

For parents, grandparents and teachers

A book that delights today and leaves something for tomorrow.

Story first

Lively characters, pace and comedy make children eager to turn the page.

Science that sticks

Ideas return in the plot, pictures and activities—three ways to understand them.

Shared time

Perfect for independent reading or reading together and pausing at the best questions.

New eyes on the world

The goal is not memorizing a definition. It is learning to observe, predict and ask why.

Frequently asked questions

Before the laboratory opens…

What age is the book for?

It is designed for curious children ages 7 to 10. Children can read it independently or share it with an adult; younger listeners can also enjoy the story and illustrations.

Is it a school textbook?

No. It is first and foremost an illustrated story with characters, comedy and adventure. The scientific ideas grow naturally from what happens and are revisited in short sections after each chapter.

Which physics topics does Volume 1 cover?

Gravity, air resistance and elastic force, explored through three connected adventures.

Are the activities safe?

The wildest inventions belong to the story. Real experiments should always be carried out safely and with adult help whenever tools, rubber bands or small parts are involved.
